I did not know that this shelf is based on a wire frame. What appear to be metal bars at the front holding the shelves securely are actually just plastic tubes with spacers that fit over the wire rack. The only strength you get is a shelf that goes on top of the plastic tube for each row and two screws that attach to the backplane/wiring control panel. I would never have bought this if I had known that. In my case, one of the wires had a stripped screw head and was not fully screwed into the base. To make matters worse, the socket that held the screw head was not securely fixed in the wood, making the entire body brittle. In my opinion this is a very low quality product not worth the dollars I paid for it.
