I had two problems: the size of my car and the need for a large extension. I needed one big enough to hold a quart sized drinking jar, similar to a mason jar. Most of the ones I've found online have had the glass pulled up. Because of the size of my car and the space allotted, I knew it wasn't going to work. I needed something that opened up so I could lift the can from the side. As with several reviewers, finding the right size for the current cup holder was a challenge. The best part was fitting first and then inserting to find the optimal size for a snug fit. As you can see in the picture the 1 liter jar fits my small Prius C snugly. As it is easy to adjust it also fits when I use the small 2 cup jar. In addition, it does not take up two places, the second cup holder is still available.
