I chose this humidifier after seeing many of them because the winter is going to be tough on my plants (my monstera leaves are curling). My room is always very dry. This humidifier is amazing! I love it. Looks nice and works great. It comes out a nice jet of steam and the light sometimes looks purple too. It's like blue/purple. If the light bothers you at night, that's okay because you have 3 lighting options around the power button. Just keep clicking it and it will dim or turn off. Despite other reviews, you can fill it from the top without having to remove the lid. Just pour it into the silver hole. DON'T KNOW WHERE THE STEAM COMES FROM. it makes me want to use it more often because it's so simple. The essential oil feature seems to work, I haven't played with it much, but you can smell the pilsner, just not very strongly. This is normal, although I have a diffuser specifically for this.
