This is a relatively inexpensive tool that does the job. I used it to check the line pressure on my 48RE transmission. It worked great. The manometer needle did not tremble, reacted immediately and did not leak. It comes with a small bag of adapters, most of which I'll probably never use, but it's good that they are. I suppose you can buy a pressure gauge, make a hose at your local hydraulic store and buy adapters if needed. It might save some money this way, but it's certainly handy to have everything in one place. Cons: - The fitting on the non-gauge end is a fixed fitting. He doesn't turn around. This means the entire length of tubing and gauge must be rotated to screw it into what you are testing. Maybe a minor blemish, but annoying. I would pay a little more to get a fitting that screws in with no problems. However, this type of fitting is more fragile and more likely to leak. The hose is 6 feet long or so. I would really like 8-10 feet or an extra tube. This would allow me to hold and ride the gauge while it was still screwed into the test port. I can go to my local hydraulic shop and make one - with a different fitting. All in all a good tool for the job. I would give 5 stars if the hose was longer and the end of the test port swiveled independently of the hose.
