The top4cus instant read digital thermometer is just what my kitchen needs! I've always used an analog meat thermometer. I have a brand name analog thermometer that worked great for a while but became inaccurate over time. I did not know that an analogue can stop working for reasons other than a fall or breakage. Nothing lasts forever I guess! The top4cus Instant Read is big. It takes up almost no space in the drawer I keep it in. The probe is good, long and measures 5.1 inches. It slides in easily, no need to push hard, it just slides in. It is food grade. Made from stainless steel. When not in use, the probe folds up and latches securely to the side of the thermometer to prevent injury and prevent it from breaking. It's SO easy to use! The thermometer has 2 buttons. One is for on/off, the other is for Fahrenheit/Celsius. The display is nice and clear and the temperature numbers are quite large and easy to read (I had no trouble reading them even without glasses). It is battery operated (battery included). The probe should be washed with soap and water, the thermometer by hand. It is NOT dishwasher safe. DO NOT immerse it in water! The ribs were perfect! I am more than satisfied and can absolutely recommend the top3cus thermometer. You cannot rely on accuracy OR price. And guess what? It can be used not only with meat, but also with other products! *** I'm updating this review because I forgot to mention something. Hang a thermometer on the back of the packaging. It includes a handy temperature chart for meat/done levels. I hung mine on the fridge. It's not big, just a few inches***
