It was a bit frustrating to set up, although most of it is mine (I completely forgot which version I bought so spent 3 days trying to find the wrong driver to install for it). Once I fixed that little issue and figured out what settings to use, everything worked reasonably well and the quality of the recordings I produced seemed acceptable (I'm so used to HDMI I almost forgot how blurry the audio was / video is ). . I had to be a bit careful with the HDMI cable as it sometimes got pushed too far causing it to disconnect, although that didn't bother me terribly. In general, this is a pretty decent device.
