Review on AVerMedia Gamer 1080P Capture GC570D by Billy Stull

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Upgraded to four stars after a one star rating * New Update

New Update *: This item was returned because it did not meet my expectations. Apparently you can't play at 1440p and record at 1080p with this capture card. This is not the fault of the companies or products. It has more to do with my lack of knowledge about streaming/capturing. If you're new to streaming/recording and have a 1440p or higher monitor, this won't work for you. The game will be forced to 1080 unless you disable the map. Buy a card with a resolution of 1440p or higher, depending on your needs. For 1080p, this card worked flawlessly, so my original rating stayed the same. Updated Review: So far everything works. I've tried using RecCenter4, the software for it, as well as third-party OBS software and both seem to work fine. I can't provide technical details as I don't know what I'm doing in terms of streaming or recording. I recorded some 1080p gameplay videos, which ran fairly smoothly and didn't affect my gameplay during the recording session. I also liked the features of RecCenter 4, just need to learn how to use them more effectively. All in all: the installation is very simple, insert the card, connect the HDMI cable and you're done. Very little impact on gameplay when capturing recorded video. I hope the card lasts a long time. First review: I can't really revise it as I think mine were DOA. Tried three different PCI slots and the card wouldn't turn on. Tried it on another PC and it crashed the system. My system specs: Windows 10 Ryzen 7 3700xAsrock b550 phantom games 4Gtx 1080 g132gb ddr4
