Upgraded to four stars after a one star rating * New Update

New Update *: This item was returned because it did not meet my expectations. Apparently you can't play at 1440p and record at 1080p with this capture card. This is not the fault of the companies or products. It has more to do with my lack of knowledge about streaming/capturing. If you're new to streaming/recording and have a 1440p or higher monitor, this won't work for you. The game will be forced to 1080 unless you disable the map. Buy a card with a resolution of 1440p or higher, depending on

Pros
  • Very Good Quality
Cons
  • No Insurance

Capture works fine, RGB management is terrible.

I already had a Liver Gamer 2, this card is almost identical in features and recording capabilities, just with 2 inputs. I didn't notice any difference between the two cards when I switched to this duo. The double entries were fantastic. I have two HDFURY INTREGAL 2 outputs connected to both inputs of this card, this allows more flexibility with DHCP, EDID, audio and picture control in the Integral software. RGB sucks, the light itself is fine, but there's little to no control over it and each…

Doesn't work on Windows 7

Install Windows 7 drivers from AVerMedia website as far as I can tell but nothing that works on Windows 7 doesn't recognize the card properly including OBS, AVerMedia AssistCentral and AVerMedia RECentral. Windows Device Manager shows the card as a "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" with error code 20 "Drivers for this device are not installed". The HD 2 card is installed in the same PCIe slot as my old AVerMedia Live Gamer. The HD card (not 2) was installed after complete uninstallation…

Garbage product, garbage support.

Purchased for Twitch Streaming PC. The drivers could not be made to work. I emailed support, they said this device does not support the x99 chipset. You know the one for the more expensive i7 gaming chips? The ones you would use in a streaming computer? There is absolutely nothing in Revain's listing (and nothing I've seen on their website) that indicates an x99 platform incompatibility. And how can a chipset be incompatible? Incompetent driver development? In ten years of professional IT, I…

Let's get to Elgato. I've had enough.

**************************************** UPDATED RATING - 1 STAR - 03/05/2018 Less than a day after I wrote my original review below, this card stopped working for me. When it worked (very briefly. I'm talking maybe 4 threads worth), it worked pretty well. Yesterday while streaming on Twitch, I switched to a new scene on Streamlabs OBS while streaming on Nintendo Switch (Breath of the Wild to be exact). I took a quick two minute break by watching the "Be Right Back" scene on OBS. When I went…

Pros
  • Ideal for small homes

Audio issues and screen tearing/color artifacts galore.

Extremely disappointing, the LGHD1 wasn't perfect but it worked properly, unlike this thing. I had a headache for hours trying to get this card to work; First, there were myriad audio latency issues: distorted, creaking audio with almost a second delay when trying to record with OBS Studio, Classic, REcentral 3 and 4, even tried having OBS Studio and Classic installed without REcentral, I've tried everything ; different frequencies, bitrates, recording only audio, setting up scenes with ONLY…

  • Best in its niche

Difficult to set up at first

How I set mine up to stream from my PC to PS4 to capture in-game audio and party chat on PC (obviously) - HDMI is farthest from 3.5 Audio connected to monitor (built-in speakers) - HDMI closest to 3.5, connected to PS4 - 1st 3.5, closest to HDMI connected to monitor - 2nd 3.5 - this is the El Gato Chat Link to PS4 Controller - female connector on El Gato Chat Link for Headset (with Kraken Headset). An additional microphone for speaking to the stream is connected to the PC (Streamlabs OBS is…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Only available in black

I was trying to upgrade from a previous version and was quite disappointed with the performance. Never had a problem with the HD Gamer 1. Not sure if I have a defective unit or what but the problem was the video was skipping about every 30 seconds. It got really annoying. Basically you're playing normally and all of a sudden the video pauses for 1 or 2 seconds and then resumes playback. Keep in mind that I was looking for a way to play on my monitor, so I needed a live preview to work properly.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Live Gamer Duo Details, highly recommend

I bought this with the intention of grabbing 2 HDMI consoles while also chasing brilliant Pokemon games at the same time. Ultimately I wanted to make sure I could test this card to see if it was for me. I did a roughly 3 hour stream with this card the night before this review and didn't have any hiccups! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I've usually used an Elgato HD60 S USB card (2 of them when I hunted brilliantly) and this card worked great too. I have a few details about the…
