**************************************** UPDATED RATING - 1 STAR - 03/05/2018 Less than a day after I wrote my original review below, this card stopped working for me. When it worked (very briefly. I'm talking maybe 4 threads worth), it worked pretty well. Yesterday while streaming on Twitch, I switched to a new scene on Streamlabs OBS while streaming on Nintendo Switch (Breath of the Wild to be exact). I took a quick two minute break by watching the "Be Right Back" scene on OBS. When I went back and got back to my normal streaming scene, the video recording froze. I've tried restarting the computer, shutting down the computer and letting it sit for a few minutes and then again overnight by unplugging and plugging the HDMI cables back in. the back of the switch dock and capture card, to no avail. The signal cannot be found and with no more effort than I am willing to invest this card is now a building block in my computer. Electronics to get Elgato HD60 Pro as they are currently sold out and overpriced on many popular online sites. Not sure why. Maybe because nobody makes decent streaming capture cards these days? Who knows. I've been an Avermedia customer after their 1080i DarkCrystal HD Capture Pro card showed fairly consistent performance, but this upgrade to Live Gamer HD 2 was a total disaster. Elgato, show me what you got. You win by default. - I hope that some of the information below will help someone. I give this card 1 star for poor customer service. I encountered audio issues like others trying to get this card to work while streaming on multiple platforms. Luckily I was able to fix the problem myself. Avermedia customer service contacted me a day after I contacted them to help resolve my issue and it was great. They asked me to provide screenshots of my windows audio recorders and their RECentral software to solve the problems. It's been two days and I still haven't received a reply to my email address. Am I expecting too much? I do not know. But since I have a timer to return my card to Amazon I needed answers asap. I decided to take matters into my own hands. The first problem I noticed with Windows was that I had no sound from RECentral at all. By default, Live Gamer HD 2 sets my recorder to line-in, which I think matches the analog jacks on the card. After doing some research, I noticed that the Live Gamer HD 2 digital audio setting was disabled on the devices, so I had to fiddle around with the recording devices (turning devices on and off). The reason I had to do this is because Windows wouldn't let me right click on a digital device and turn it on. I'm not sure exactly how I got the digital device to become the default recording device, but I was able to get it working in the end. Make sure this digital device is enabled in Windows Recorders or you won't hear any sound from your new card! Now for the second annoying problem. This isn't related to the card itself as far as I know, but I have a suspicion that it's still related - indirectly. I've noticed in my Twitch streams that people are hearing a little echo in my voice and video recording. I checked the treble and bass in the RECentral and Windows recorders. Nothing seemed out of place. After sleeping on it, I opened up Streamlabs OBS and started messing around with the settings. Of course, in the bottom right corner (and I never knew about it), I scrolled down and found that my device list had a lot more input options than before. Basically, my mic and stereo mix were synced and streamed at the same time. I disabled a set of duplicates and boom. The problem is solved. So when you get that card, not only check your Windows recorders, but also look into your streaming app's settings if you're getting that pesky echo. Hope that helps! After all, the $140 I paid for this card back then seems like a steal compared to the $200-$300 for the Elgato HD60 Pro. As long as you're willing to work out some technical issues, I don't see anything wrong with this card.
