I've used it twice so far. It worked fine the first time. It's very easy to use. Turn it on, wait for the light to go out, pour in 2/3 cup batter, wait 2-3 minutes. We've experimented with the duration and found it takes 3 to 3 1/2 minutes. We used it again the next day and unfortunately it didn't get hot enough. No matter how long we left the waffles in, only the base baked well. The top was spongy and less finished. It still worked enough to eat them, but it was disappointing. But I will try again! Does not require cooking spray but requires initial oiling/heating/cooling/cleaning prior to first use. And it is recommended to throw away the first waffle.
