Bought these over a year ago to replace a broken PS3 controller. Both were able to connect to the PS3. Soon after, I was able to disassemble and repair my original PS3 controller. Since I was able to connect my original PS3 controller to my Linux Mint 17.3 computer, I decided to try connecting them to my computer and then use my original controller with my PS3 instead. I was trying to connect pink to my Linux Mint 17.3. machine but it didn't work. I remember how the same signal kept appearing as if the button was stuck. I thought it was some kind of driver issue (because pink worked fine with PS3) so I didn't try blue. Let's jump forward. I was able to connect Blue to my Linux Mint 19.2. So I tried pink. That does not work. So I connected the pink one back to the PS3. When first plugged in, the PS3 behaved as if the button was stuck, then it stopped and worked fine. The PS3 appears to be able to compensate for a poor manufacturing controller (e.g. a stuck button). Turns out the pink controller was broken the whole time. I haven't tried to return it because it's probably too late for me. Finally, these controllers work great with the PS3; However, if you intend to use them for something else (e.g. PC gaming) they are not of sufficient quality to ensure that they will work with anything else.
