It arrived quickly and requires very little assembly. I cut out a few platforms for a heating element and water pump, they are marked as if they were perforated. I used a sharp knife to cut out the perforated areas. When I plugged it in, I was amazed at how bright it was compared to my 20 year old. My fish need sunglasses. Now I like my fish and my aquarium much more than before. They're all swimming like crazy now that they can really see. My Siamese cat also likes to jump on the hood so I don't have to worry about her falling off. The loop on my old hood broke so half just lay there without support. Now I can easily and safely feed my fish by lifting the hood with a good looping motion.
