AAG21230 Fluorescent Deluxe Hood for 30-Inch All Glass Aquarium Review

I needed a lightbulb for my new 29 gallon tank. I found this one and it fits perfectly. I'm not keen on the included T8 bulb, but it's more of a personal thing on my part and easily replaceable. It appears to be made of medium-strength plastic. It has a transparent cover under the bulb and the back has perforations for HOB filters and slots for power cords and so on. Overall, I feel like it should last a few years, if not forever.

It arrived quickly and requires very little assembly. I cut out a few platforms for a heating element and water pump, they are marked as if they were perforated. I used a sharp knife to cut out the perforated areas. When I plugged it in, I was amazed at how bright it was compared to my 20 year old. My fish need sunglasses. I ordered this lens hood to replace the Marineland LED lens hood I bought about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Unlike the Marineland LED hood, this hood illuminates the entire aquarium and has 1 fluorescent lamp. My old aquarium light stopped working and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. So I looked for a replacement. Second hooded lantern to be released this year. This is the second tank we have purchased for our 29 gallon tank. The first lasted six months, when it went out, every lightbulb we put in there would flicker randomly until it stopped working.
