Review on Metra 99 8231 Single Installation 2002 2006 by Robert Elder

I installed this unit in my car with a JVC KWAV61BT 2 din receiver. I'll admit I was hesitant to use the plastic on the sides of the unit to hold the stereo, but it worked just fine. What I didn't expect was a gap at the bottom of the device. Of course there is a very, very small gap at the top and on both sides, but it's less than 1/8 inch. The gap at the bottom is noticeable when you get into the car. It's impossible to avoid. larger than 1/8" and appears to reach 1/4" at the center of the device. In terms of the grip and stability of the device, it is well suited for this purpose. My car had a JBL premium audio system in it. This is without navigation. The plastic warned, but that's not after installing the device. However, the gap will bother me every time I get in the car.
