The factory smell dissipates quickly, so just squeezing it in my hand gives me great pleasure at first. The texture is really nice. The small diamond-shaped short ends are quite sharp and are good for leftovers in pans. They can wear out over time but are durable. The bristle end is effective. I ordered another silicone scraper with thin bristles but this one works fine. They move a lot and aren't harsh, but wash and lather well. A gloomy bath and crappy meals? Yes. Cleaning a gnarled grill grate. May be. That's right, just the diamond-shaped end. Spoons and forks, plates and pots are washed quickly. Cheese knives and graters should be avoided as they cut the bristles. Very easy to clean and looks beautiful on the counter. It doesn't retain water, so it's odor and mold free. Also, the best part is that it lasts longer than any regular dishwashing sponge.
