The processor is reserved solely for use in professional endeavors. And there it is; taking into account the cost of it, it is clearly not something that Intel is capable of achieving. On the other hand, if you are putting together a gaming rig and you want to use high-end hardware, then the 1800X is not the ideal option for you. You would save money by purchasing either the 1600X or the 7700K, even if the former option costs more. Also, do not pay attention to individuals who yell about optimizing for eight cores and DirectX 12 (DX12). Because only 3.9% of users have processors with more than 4 cores, no one will bother to optimize games for multi-core processors, despite the fact that these processors are capable of managing the workload anyway. And DX12 has already been demonstrated to us, and although Intel has a lesser lead there, the situation is still not in AMD's favor. The outcome is rather clear: the 1800X is the priority at work, while the 7700K is the priority when playing games.
