Almost two years ago (I honestly forgot the exact date) 4 ounces were squeezed into each tube. Then I watched a YouTube video of a guy installing the slime and thought out loud that it would be better to add more for more protection. I did that then. I squeezed a total of 8 ounces into each tube. Then I did not test the product. I've been riding for about 2 years. I recently purposely punctured each hoop to see if it would close. To my surprise it happened. Once my front tire went flat while walking. I pumped air and spun the tire. The hose didn't close, although the leak was slow enough that I could cycle home with a few stops to bleed for more. I replaced the front pipe and checked to find 2 small holes in the old pipe. I only squeezed out 4 ounces because that's the recommended amount and I didn't want to add any extra weight to the tube. After the puncture test, the hole did not close. Thought it was a defective item. But then I thought maybe my wheels are bigger than the other 26 x 1.95. I squeezed in another 1 ounce, 5 ounces total. This time the hole is closed. Then I put in another ounce for insurance :) So now I have a total of 6 ounces. I'd rather play it safe.
