Review on ๐Ÿšš Sherline LM 2000 Trailer Hydraulic Tongue: Optimize Your Towing Experience! by Aaron Lewis

Good product

I bought the ยฃ2000 scale as I felt it was the most versatile for me. I have many types of trailers that I can use this on. First, I loaded four ATVs onto a tandem axle trailer attached to my vehicle. My car had a lot of rear camber which I knew would give me a strong dolphin effect on the road. I unhooked the trailer from the vehicle and jacked up the scale to the same height that the trailer was on the vehicle and lowered the tongue onto the scale. To my surprise, I had nearly 800 pounds of tongue weight on the rear hitch. Using the 10% - 15% tongue weight theory, my trailer and load should be at least 8,000 pounds. However, my actual trailer weight and load was almost 3,000 pounds. I hitched the trailer back to the car and made sure the trailer was level after loading it. I then reconfigured the placement of the quad on the trailer and used the scale again. I went through this process a few times and eventually reached a tongue weight of 350 pounds. I was happy with this and the trailer was very close to level when attached to the vehicle. The whole process took about an hour and the results looked great as I saw the difference in the car's appearance after I was done. I trolled at freeway speeds and had a significant reduction in dolphin counts and the trailer tracked great. I was very happy with the result and it gave me a better idea of the weight distribution on the tandem axle. I've read other reviews where people question the accuracy of the weights. I see this being the case with many factors affecting trailer location and any tilt. However, I think that scale worked great to get me to the ballpark, and then I used common sense to get me to home court.
