This item is essential when cutting pipe. I am currently installing a duct around my outside home to enclose the security camera cables which are currently outside and exposed to the elements. Before I bought this, I used a saw that cuts metal, which I used to cut through the toilet flange bolts. This cutter saves time and nerves. I just put it on the pipe, tighten and move it until it cuts through the pipe. This tool cuts pipes and other materials. This should be in your tool box. The only negative I can think of is if you're using this for a limited space. Not. They cut much better there. This one has a handle that tightens the cutter and is not suitable for tight spaces. Other than that, it's a good tool.
