I bought this LED kit to bring some light into the interior of my Hummer and this product was delivered. The light strips are plastic and contain diodes that alternate between red, blue and green, meaning if you go for blue then only a third of the diodes will light up at once, and if you go for a mixed colour, like yellow, then some green and green. Some red diodes are turned on to produce the corresponding color. The hose wiring is a fixed length and is attached to the control box, meaning you cannot adjust the length. The length of the cords was more than enough to get to the front and back seats, so much so that I had to zip up and plug in lots of extra cords. This set has a "memory" feature, which means that if you set it to blue, turn off the power, and then restore power, it will turn back on with blue. This helped me a lot with the installation as I hooked it up to the headlight circuit through a fuse box with an extra fuse so these headlights would only turn on at night. As for the brightness, I can say that they are moderately bright. I have previously had an opt7 indoor LED kit and this kit is MUCH brighter. However, I ended up sending this kit back and going for it. The opt7 kit emitted so much light it bounced everywhere and even bounced off my truck's ceiling slightly. Not bad and not visible from the outside of the truck but to me it was an amazing amount of light. If you personally just want to add footwell lighting, the opt7 kit is a good choice, but if you want to add another type of lighting, e.g. B. cup holder LEDs or door handle LEDs etc. then I would buy this kit as it adds a lot of light without taking attention away from other lights. What I personally didn't like about this kit was the lack of options. Yes, there are some color templates to choose from, but you can't apply a template to just one specific color, for example. So if you want a blinking pattern you need to use all colors, you can't just blink blue. If you want something like flashing one color, this company also sells one color interior kits. There is also no dimming function. If you're looking for more features/patterns, then opt7 sets are the way to go. The music rhythm function is ok, but not always accurate. Works best with songs that have fast, punchy bass. Again, there is no monochromatic music rhythm function, it cycles through all colors. To be honest I just wanted a solid blue but opted for a multi color kit in case I ever want to change color for some reason. In addition, the slowly fading color changing pattern looks very cool at night. All in all a great set at a good price. Designed for people who just need decorative lighting in their car instead of messing around with it all the time. Simple, clean and efficient.
