Great job on my fireplace!

I'm selling my house and I'm scouring the internet for ideas on natural ways to clean my chimney (which hasn't been cleaned in a REALLY long time). I've seen many websites that suggested using acids and other chemicals, but I didn't want to do it. I stumbled across this product and decided to give it a try although I was skeptical. First, I know the company makes a spray specifically for chimneys. I chose this one instead because I didn't want another fireplace after selling my house and wanted to find more uses for it (bathrooms etc.). The product resembles gelatin/solid butter. It's not runny, not creamy, more like a jelly inside. It has no odor as far as I can tell. I have followed the application instructions to the best of my ability with limited supplies. I filled a spray bottle with very hot water, added about 2-3 scoops of QB and mixed it all together, then sprayed onto the bricks in preparation. Then I took a cleaning brush (I had the one I used to clean the bathtub) and went into town to scrub the QBs on the rocks in a circular motion. Using the product itself was easy. Rubs in like a lotion in nature. Beating up the seams was annoying, so I suggest using a smaller brush that's better for small spaces. I left it on the bricks for 15-20 minutes and then filled the spray bottle up with hot water. I used the "straight" mode on the atomizer (which is a bit harder, no mist) and started spraying the bricks. Immediately the soot began to flow down. It reminded me of a power wash. I dried the bricks with a towel and then finished the other two sides. To be honest, after just ONE use, this was the result. I am very satisfied with this product. I'm sure if I hadn't been lazy and did another round of QB I could have taken it all down, but for what I need it's more than enough. The hardest part was cleaning the bottom of the chimney, but that's more because the water was PITA for soaking and not the product (a wet vacuum would be perfect for this). All in all - IT WORKS! I haven't washed for hours, the product has gotten on me and my clothes, hasn't burned or ruined the clothes, hasn't smelled and I have half a bath left over for other projects! I have an old tub that is a real slut to clean so I'll post pics when I use it for that.
