Friction holds in place. The spring pushes the two edges outward and they grip the outer edges of the CD slot in your car. Either this spring needs to be stronger, or the flat edges of the attachment need to be curved. And the magnet must be stronger. It just can't handle the weight of the iPhone 11 Max.
