Sanity Saver on Nursery

The first one I had was given to me for my baby shower. When my baby outgrew it, I bought the next size up without hesitation. What a find! We wrapped our baby in blankets until he was a month old. Little Houdini always found a way out of diapers. We would have wrapped them tighter but I kept worrying if it would be too tight. I've loosened and retied diapers over and over again. We're sick of all this fuss. I have also read that there is a risk of hip dysplasia if the wrap is too tight due to the adducted leg position. It was all too much. Sleeping bag is so easy! At first we put her hands inside her wings, but now that she is older we leave her hands outside and gently wrap the wings around her body. She loves it. The microfleece made her sweat in the warmer months so we bought the cotton one and it worked great too (btw I noticed the cotton sleeping bag was slightly smaller than the microfleece for the same size). I will say that when we brought her home from the hospital it was impossible to accommodate her there. At just over 6 pounds, she was too small for even a newborn's size. I think the manufacturer recommended minimum weight of 6 pounds should be increased to maybe 7 or even 8 pounds. After a few weeks she gained weight and we only used the SleepSack for swaddling. We could use newborn size until she was 12 pounds. To be honest, she probably could have switched from 12 pounds to light just before her weight gain. However, the size of the newborn fit her by then. One thing I don't like is the noisy velcro. It's not ideal if you're trying to make as little noise as possible with diaper changes and the like while your baby is sleeping. My husband and I have discovered that changing diapers is an art and needs to be done right to be completely safe for the baby. For us, SleepSack saved us a lot of anxiety and frustration. It is very soft, warm, comfortable and so light.

Pros

Cons
  • A few bugs
