I really like Kum magnesium sharpeners. I keep a few in stock because they go well with different pen brands and pen types. However, I don't have much dexterity, so using them without getting chips everywhere is frustrating at times. I bought one of the red long tip sharpeners but haven't learned how to use it. I also wanted one with a large chip compartment, so I ordered this one. It sharpens just as well as my tiny Kum Magnesium sharpeners. The only downside is that I can't just pop a new sharpener into the lid when the original gets dull. If replacement were that easy, I could do the maintenance myself (even with limited manual dexterity). The sharpener has a screw so you can install a new blade. Since I lack the skill, I'll probably have to ask someone to fit me a new one. Doesn't violate the terms of the deal, but it will be awkward. I think it was a little pricey for its simplicity, but I'm glad to have a basic kum sharpener with a large shavings container. It also opens and closes easily, which is great value! Overall very happy with this delightful pencil sharpener.
