Wow! This paint is great! It appears to have a satin finish rather than a chalk finish, which actually worked better for my use. If you're looking for true scarlet, which is defined as a bright red with a slight orange tinge, I think you'll be happy. In fact, I thought scarlet tended more toward deep purples; I'm glad I trusted the color shown and bought it anyway. The paint comes out of the nozzle very well (just shake the can for about a minute) and dries very quickly. I was looking for a poppy color and couldn't find it in the right time frame, so I settled on this scarlet color; Perfect for what I was looking for in color. I can't be happier with my purchase!
