I saved it to replace a burned out single pass straight element. I have well water. Installation was more difficult than a straight one/two way element. Because there are so many other elements, it's pretty hard when all you have to do is hold on to the tiny end when stringing the threads together, and even harder when it's embedded in a well-insulated water filter. You need some patience. It does exactly what you think it does compared to a traditional element, it heats water faster or keeps it warm longer. Convenient for a long shower in your home.
