Cast iron body, uncoated steel guides. Well designed and built, the tight tolerances on the rails minimize tipping when unloading. The lack of bushings on the cheek block, cast iron guides. Requires little adjustment but runs smoothly, the cam lock is strong and ribbed. Interchangeable jaws but can be thicker to allow the jaws to be fully closed for fine work. Cam travel is adjustable from 0" to 3/8" which is usually sufficient for all but the softest materials. This vise is probably not suitable if you intend to use it to compress parts such as bearings and bushings as clamping travel is limited. For an inexpensive, strong, well-designed eccentric locking drill vise, this is the ticket.
