So this is a wonderful sharpener for about 15-20 pencils. Any artist who routinely uses a blade to lengthen graphite will fall for this, as will I. Unfortunately, the number 2 blade (the one for graphite) becomes blunt SUPER quickly. It will dull even faster if you try to sharpen pencils harder than "B". I have a variety of pens that I use in my art depending on the situation (travel, home, quick pen change because of a tip, etc.) so I have a double hardness graphite. I made about 15 pencils with softer graphite and it worked great, while on number 16 I noticed it took MUCH longer to sharpen the graphite in hole 2. Hole 1 for wood did the job perfectly and held up with all 48 pencils I tested. I swapped out the blade for one of the replacement blades and switched to a harder graphite. I did "B" well and then immediately noticed that it slowed down on "F" and "HB". I figured maybe I was just tired and taking an afternoon break. The next day I tried again to sharpen "2h" and it took forever. The blade dulled again, I tested with a different, softer "8b" graphite, and indeed it was some work. So I changed the blade to the last stock provided and checked again the next day, this time I did a "9h", got a fine point in seconds, and then I did another "8b" (softer ) sharpened and hole number 2 is broken blade . Point so many times that he almost ate the whole pencil before being left with a hard point. So my verdict is a good sharpener for softer leads with around 15-20 sharpening before the number 2 blade dulls. If you use harder graphite pencils you may only make 1 or 2 tips before noticing a drop in performance. Unfortunately, I have a $2 KUM sharpener that has over 60 sharpenings under its belt and still works fine. The KUM Longpoint I own has sharpened my entire collection twice before I even thought of changing blades. It costs 5 dollars. I noticed that the $2 KUM blades are identical to the Masterpiece blades and are interchangeable. The KUM Longpoint blades are slightly larger so they may last longer. No idea. Masterpiece is a great idea and it should be something awesome, the number 1 blade (for wood) never dulled on me but the number 2 blade dulls quickly and slows down to the point where you can NOT get a point and are exhausted themselves. trying to replicate what he could do when he was sharper. For €20 I just can't recommend this sharpener because of the performance. If it can only be sharpened about 15 times, it's useless to the intended consumer. (I can't imagine that this would be desirable for anyone other than an artist of any degree). That goes in the return truck for me. Doesn't work as advertised. They said they are good quality blades. identical to the sharpener KUM $2. Maybe I have a little error in the angle for hole number 2? I just don't understand why the Longpoint Out is doing so well and the $2 Kum reigns as the king of longevity.
