Finally! I've been trying to find a solution to my large piranhas dragging their hind legs. I wanted something with a rubber sole that would not rotate when walking. Muttluk's traditional style ankle boots fit well but twist and feel hot and uncomfortable. He regularly wears nail caps to prevent his nails from rubbing to the point of bleeding. However, they make his toenails very long and the vast majority of brands cannot accommodate them. I don't let him wear boots 24/7 so he needs protection even when he's not wearing them. I've tried paw pad stickers that don't stick at all. Pawz is my second choice after these. They work well but they only last a few weeks and don't breathe at all. These mud boots have a great upper that comfortably accommodates its double rope. The extra length of Velcro allows you to tie them exactly how your dog needs them. You remain excellent for us. They are soft inside with no painful seams, no need to wear socks underneath. The rubber outsole stays in place and doesn't roll on your foot. The price is high but for us they are a medical necessity so I don't care about the cost.
