I use the Manfrotto 196AB-2 swivel mount to mount my LED video light in places where tripods can't fit. Child pegs on both ends make it easy to attach to 5/8" and Super Clamps receivers. In addition, the child pegs are designed with 1/4" and 3/8" sockets for accessories such as mounts, arca clamps, adapters etc etc. The reason to buy an articulating arm extender is for flexibility in positioning: Three adjustable knees allow for almost any angle or position Plastic (Manfrotto calls it technopolymer) butterfly joints are not as quick to adjust, feel smooth or firm as Lock Magic Fantastic wheel handles firmly under moderate loads This articulating arm is designed for light work, not a replacement for a magic arm, it definitely does not support DSLR or six-light light head, buy it if you need to support small flash, LED , flag or point-and-shoot camera I found it to be a great problem solver for light workloads: works with dozens of accessories, fits into a travel bag and can replace the light stand in many situations.
