Prevents fire/melting of auxiliary wiring from lightning strikes

For some reason it never occurred to me that I would need to fit some form of thermal protection. After replacing the stock wiring harness several times, I decided to order this coupler as I didn't want to cut the wires to complete the installation. The velcro made it easy to "install" and it holds up very well. It's installed on an 18 year old emissions complaint truck and a must as they run a bit hotter than their pre-emission counterparts, especially during regeneration (😑😑😑).
