Review on πŸ–ŒοΈ KINGART Specialty-Set of 6 Natural Goat Hair MOPS Paint Brush Set, Brown/White/Black by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Durable, slim multipurpose brush set. No Shedding Yet

This set of oval mop brushes from KINGART not only looks fantastic with their beautiful shiny brown handles and black tip, they are well made and most importantly very comfortable to use. paint with. Good weight and balance, easy to clean, no spills and good water/paint retention. A little goes a long way with them. Before use, I gently fluff and sip to remove loose hair. But from the whole set only three or four tiny ones came out. Includes an additional, probably synthetic, long flat brush, possibly for reference in another set. Also, it comes in a nice gift box. Of course, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to art tools, so they may not be to everyone's tastes like me. It's been a while since I've used mopping brushes; probably ten years ago in art school. I used to only work with oil and acrylic paints, but now that I've started painting more with watercolors, it's very interesting to use them. The larger ones are great for backwashing, while the smaller ones are great for smaller parts. I like to paint the background with watercolor and then use the smaller ones for the foreground acrylic and this set is perfect. They are said to work best with watercolor and gouache, but they have worked well for me with acrylics as well. Haven't tried oils yet but to be honest I have a feeling the mop shapes won't fit and will be difficult to clean. I'll report the results when I do. The price (currently $67) seems reasonable and the quality is really excellent. They're a lot cheaper here at Revain as I've seen the same set elsewhere for over $90. They will not suit everyone, to each their own, especially when it comes to art materials. But I recommend this set whether you are a serious artist or just starting out. Also, it would make a great thoughtful gift for any artist or anyone just starting out in art school or painting. They are great for experimenting as they work well with different environments. After all, experimenting is part of every art :).
