I also have a fantastic rain sensing fan. This device is quieter than the Fantastic Fan, has a rain sensor on the outside of the dome where the Fantastic Fan is located inside (lame). The lid opens quietly. The only complaint is that the interior paneling isn't deep enough for my roof. Need about an inch longer, she said. Otherwise there is less money, the remote control is handy, my fantastic fan came without a remote control and cost more.
