Review on PAC RP5 GM31 Replacement Interface 2007 2012 by Ryan Schweigert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great in 2011 Avalanche for 3 months now. Fast Warranty Return

Easier installation. Everything is written, the instructions are clear. I called PAC to make sure they had the latest firmware update and tech support was prompt and friendly. I added a SiriusXM tuner and ran it directly through the JVC kw-av71bt head unit instead of using the factory tuner so I can't annotate the XM display in the driver information center. Thus, the sound on the back seat only plays what is played in front. The turn signals with bells are still a bit cheesy and quiet. Calls are clear and loud. Once you've soldered the wires, add a piece of wire to the parking brake wire and ground it to bypass the parking brake. It's a big bundle of wires to tuck under the dash, but it makes wiring easier. I can be back in stock in 30 minutes September 21, 2013. No longer working. A strange buzzing from the blue box. I will ask for help under warranty! October 28, 2013 Received replacement blue box from 3 Kings Audio. Both PAC and 3 Kings responded quickly (I was slow to contact/post the part). The new blue box is the latest firmware update. I will install tomorrow. November 2. Is working. The exchange was easy. Thanks to 3 Kings that I was only allowed to return the blue box. Plug and play, back in business. Fingers crossed that this has been working for sooooo long! 4/2/18: Still working great!

Pros
  • Saves OnStar when replacing factory radio
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
