Yes the instructions suck and are in millimeters so you have to spend extra time converting everything. I recommend (as do other reviews) watching the YouTube video to get a better idea of how this is set up. Once I did that, it really wasn't that hard to put together. The hardware itself is very durable. I used it for a small window. Beware, if you're using this on a door or window with moldings, the molding will likely push your doors further than the hardware will allow, causing them to stick out of the window at an angle. This only happens when the doors are closed, and in my case they mostly stay open, so I'll take care of that.
