Review on Cordiant Road Runner 185/65 R15 88H summer by Barbara Budna ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

195/65 R15 91T for Toyota OP@. Among inexpensive tires, I chose these. More precisely, having touched the entire assortment available in the nearest store, I eliminated everything except these and Viatti Strada Asymmetrico, and entrusted my wife with making a choice (she drives a car). I think the pressure sensitivity is a consequence of the round design of the tank. Hence also the sometimes occurring sensitive shocks into the suspension on the palisade of bumps of a certain frequency - the resonance of an elastic body. They bounce like a ball, in short. Contrary to concerns expressed in other comments, the roundness of the profile does not lead to the risk of tire damage. At least with mine for the season from May to October absolutely nothing happened. No punctures, no hernias. True, in just a couple of weeks of driving with unadjusted toe-in, the inner part of the front tire tread was almost completely eaten away, but after adjusting on the stand, wear is not noticeable at all. According to the indicators, 4 mm remained on the sawn tires (less inside, more on the outside), and on those that were behind and migrated to the front, after adjusting the toe, more than 6 mm remained with a mileage of about 15 thousand over the summer. Of course, there is a rumble on rough asphalt, but they do not howl, which indicates a competent calculation of the width of the tread blocks. Cordiant seems to have a very decent balanced tire. You can find tires that are better in any of the indicators, but the tires of the "first line" of Western brands will be fundamentally more expensive and less durable, that is, in terms of quality to price, they play in their own league, extremely far from the people, and comparable tires can be significantly inferior in terms of quality to price. some indicators.

Pros
  • Good rubber compound, not plastic, like many others in the dimension I need (including Nokian Green, oddly enough). Nice design including wear indicators. Cheap. Quite wear resistant. Moderate noise (very quiet on some types of asphalt). Decent behavior on all types of surfaces. They don’t give up even in sub-zero temperatures, unless of course there is snow and ice on top of the asphalt.
Cons
  • Very sensitive to pressure. You walk along the track, the sun is shining - the tires are too hard, the sun is hidden - the tires become softer. Fuel consumption from this probably also walks, but there is nothing to measure. Uncomfortable on some types of bumps.
