I saw a video on Project Farm (YouTube - you should check it out) comparing different brands of bits. Makita came out on top, so I decided to treat myself and buy some. I had no idea what a difference those quality bits would make. I usually think of bits as "disposable" (that's why I buy them in bulk from HF), but this caused me to reconsider my stance on the subject. I've been using the same sprocket and crosshead for 2 months and they still look and work like I just took them out of the box. That is after every 1000 screws. Not only would I buy them again (if the ones I have ever really wear out), but I'd be willing to pay a little more if I had to. That's how good they are.
