Review on Fellowes Powershred 8MC5 Micro Cut Shredder by Aaron Guy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good shredder but chokes

I like that it's compact and easy to use. Performance is important to me and I disagree with many reviews that say it can shred 8 sheets. Maybe sometimes he can do 8 leaves, but usually that many leaves slows him down, the engine starts groaning and smells burnt, and then the red light comes on. After the red light turns on, you need to wait 30 minutes for it to cool down. So I found that if you put 2 or 3 papers in at a time your throughput is actually much higher because they go through faster and you can use them longer before they get an overheated smell. In other words, I think it would be fair to call it a 3 or 4 sheet shredder, but calling it an 8 like they do is just unrealistic and they're exaggerating.
