I've used them for gardening - even digging up dirt and rocks with my fingers - and cleaned and cleaned everything from plates to bird cages and none have broken. I don't reuse them to avoid spreading garden mites, other biting bugs and germs to my birds, although they are strong enough to survive two or three separate pot treatments or light dishwashing. If you wish to do this, take them off by the wrist, let the sweat dry, then turn inside out and rinse as needed, keeping the inside dry. Fingertip removal practically guarantees they (or disposable gloves) will tear at twice the normal rate. I don't have large hands but have very long fingers so I ordered large ones to prevent overstretching the fingertips from breaking them. They fit and perform as well as one would hope or expect from disposable nitrile gloves, certainly no worse than any I have ever used before.
