I bought the Canon Rebel 2000 as my burgeoning interest in photography grew beyond my point and shoot camera. The Canon Rebel 2000 is easy to use from day one. This allows you to be a point-and-shoot user with a smart camera, or a smart photographer with manual controls. As other reviews on this product have focused on the many great features this camera has, I wanted to mention one thing I haven't seen in print about this product. The Canon Rebel 2000 Kit comes with a strap and two lithium batteries to get you started right away. As I tend to think ahead, I ordered the professional strap recommended for this camera and 2 batteries and found on arrival that both were included. I like the professional strap more than the one that came with it. The one that comes with it is wide, navy blue with a red stripe and is imprinted "Canon EOS". The Pro is slimmer, black (matches the color of the camera better), and has clips to detach the strap from the camera without removing the loops that attach it to the camera body. While buying an extra strap and batteries was a happy snip for me when I placed my order, an outright purchase is not required to start using your new camera. The kit includes everything you need to use the camera the first day you receive it, except for the film.
