Acrylic paint starter kit

Bought this kit for my adult daughter. This is a full set of accurate paints for most acrylic paintings and can be applied to almost any surface including permanent adhesion to fabric. This is their "basic" set, so there are many shades (the shade will be in the name of the color on the tube) and no colors with a pigment. Great set for a beginner artist. In addition to the brushes, they need a small bottle of matte and gloss mediums. Do not dilute with water as this will weaken the colour. Use Wednesday. Remember that many colors are "shades" of the named color. Tints are made up of more than one color pigment to mimic the more expensive pure pigments. So when you create a color by mixing "shades" the color doesn't always turn out as expected. Also note that acrylic paints dry quickly. So if you are experienced with oil paints, they dry very quickly if you load a palette with many colors. (To further work on an image that is still wet, use a hair dryer or simply leave the image in the sun.) During the session, use only the colors necessary for painting. This is another reason for such a large number of paints in the set, because in order to repeat the mixing of paints in the picture, it is better, if possible, to use one paint from the tubes. In addition, each tube is labeled to indicate whether it is opaque, transparent, or translucent. Rule one, until you start painting with acrylics, avoid mixing opaque colors with translucent or translucent ones. Opacity usually trumps the properties of transparency: mix opaque colors, transparent colors, and sometimes translucent colors together. Experiment with a small amount of paint and try to get a color that isn't included in the set. A final note for oil painters new to acrylics: acrylics are polymers and once they dry quickly on acrylic paint they form a molecular bond that lasts forever. There is no way to remove the color from above. In this case, white is your friend. Paint over with white and then apply any color. Unlike oil paint, it is permanent.
