Very sharp. Works well. Looks like it will hold up in my kitchen. UPDATE: I've been using it for over a year and this knife is absolutely the best. He's very sharp and stays that way. At first I thought the design of the handle would be awkward. However, because the blade is so sharp, starting it requires little effort; thus less squeezing of the handle is required. The disadvantage of being sharp is that you have to be careful or you'll cut yourself. The extra blade length is worth it for larger fruit and vegetables. It is more expensive than other columns but worth the money. Highly recommended and will be buying again for gifts for family and friends. You will not regret it.
