This style of pet clothing is usually recommended for short haired dogs, but it works great for my Pyrenean and Border Collie mix. I have it in XL and it is not constricted anywhere. The material is very light and breathable. We live in Texas, it's hot and humid here. She doesn't mind wearing it outside. She is great at potty training and doesn't get her pajamas dirty. The backstory, the reason I put my dog in pajamas, is not a random thing I wanted to see about her, but a recommendation from a vet to help me control her licking. She's already a very nervous dog, but when she has a hot spot, she's too smart for her own good. She walks around a cone that is 2 sizes too big for her. Her hot spot is on her thigh. She still tried to lick it off, but she couldn't lick the crust. There is such a big win. But I also think she looks less neurotic in her pajamas. I think it helps her deal with her anxiety so we can carry on after the hot spot has healed.
