I boiled it for about 2 hours and left it in water for 3 days but it never changed color so I didn't recommend it 7 days before . put in an aquarium. Looks good, algae are already clinging to it, and this is usually the main place the shrimp have been so far. My tank has been up for 4 weeks now. The tree sinks to the bottom but floats when I start moving it. It seems that if you order a larger or x large piece they are very pretty but the small and medium ones are not that tasty. I still love mine and will be buying a second medium to maybe put on top of or tape to the current piece I have.
