When you need a clean but not quick oil change

Love this pump! I bought it for my Yamaha PWC. That works great. I warmed up my Yamaha and it pulled the oil out in about 12-15 minutes. These PWC oil changes are really expensive so they saved me a lot of money. Then I thought about my other cars. I have a Ford 4x4 truck that holds 6 gallons of oil and due to the height the hot oil squirts everywhere when the drain plug is removed. I used an extractor and pulled out about 5.25 liters through the dipstick tube. I pulled out the drain plug while holding the drain pan close to the hole. The small amount of oil that was left (I have an auto OCD so I had to remove whatever I could) was collected easily with no drama. I saved a bunch of old newspapers compared to my regular oil change. I've tried this on my Gen 2 Prius and I usually tilt the car 4x4 on the driver's side. I drained the oil and then (this car only) removed the drain plug. I still have three drops! It almost completely drains this machine. I no longer even remove the drain plug on my Prius when changing the oil/filter, saving me a spare plug with a crush washer for every oil/filter change. Have you ever had to change the oil/filter on an automatic transmission without a drain plug? There's an exciting part of the process where you drop the transmission pan and oil splatters all over you, mostly around the oil pan, not enough newspaper and your garage floor just as the oil pan separates from the body. This pump eliminates all worries. Draw out most of the liquid and carefully and easily remove the sump, leaving only a small manageable amount of oil at the very bottom. I now use an extractor for all my oil changes, PWC or not. It's not super fast like an open drain hole in the bottom of an oil pan, but the convenience and cleanliness make it easier and a lot cleaner. I just do other maintenance while draining the oil, such as ) can help with all types of mechanical maintenance. UPDATE: I've been using this particular device since June 2017, it's now February 2021. It continues to work with no issues.
