Does not require a special charger; Charged directly with US cable. I ripped off the plug covering the USB port because I was tired of pulling it back to charge, but others might like it. Bluetooth always connects with no problems. No bright, flashing blue light blinds you in bed like so many others. I use it for podcasts and other voice sources. I'm tired of losing similar things that cost a lot more. Ironically, I couldn't lose this one, but will buy another if that is the case. No, it's understandable.
