I bought these thinking I would use a smaller hand router and the jig I set up, but found on a test board that the smaller router would leave a rough cut as he just did not keep the required speed. So I used the collet on my larger router and got better results. Had I known beforehand I would have bought a 1/2 inch shank but other than that if you have a decent 1/4 inch router bit with enough power it should be great.
