I've used it to remove rust from several old tools (iron and steel) and it did an amazing job. EvapoRust and wrap it around the rusted area. Then wrap it in cling film to slow evaporation of the chemical. Leave on for 8-12 hours, remove used film and rinse with water. Wipe dry and apply a light coat of penetrating oil or other preservative and you're done. If the rust was very deep you can refinish the metal, but I've restored almost a dozen tools (less than a quart) and I've only used the 2nd refinish once. As with any chemical - PROTECT your eyes and skin, I've gotten my hands on these several times and never had a problem but ALWAYS BE SAFE. Googles and gloves are cheap insurance against injury.
