Makes a weak WiFi signal many times stronger. I had 1 bar sigma, with this device I got full power and went from detecting 2 wireless routers to 20. One problem is that the device uses two USB sockets and I use Macbook Air, it only has one USB connection on each side. Laptop, the cable length on the wifi booster is not long enough to reach both sides, so I used an extra cable. Another problem is just with the apple. After updating to Maverick OS, an error message pops up saying the Wi-Fi Extender is consuming too much power and temporarily disabling the USB port until you disable it. Maverick is advanced and not compatible with this device. I have confirmed this with the help of Apple and their awesome tech support. I'm considering restoring to a previous OS, Mountain Lion, other than that the device is doing a good job. I recommend it.
