Pull out the inner disk firmly.
Great fit and finish that really helps differentiate the shift knob from other similar knobs on Ram. I would give 5 stars even though the instructions were terrible. Please note that during installation you need to remove (do not unscrew) the internal drive with a screwdriver as it comes in a sealed package. You have to use a lot of force to eject the disc. After separating the washer, lubricate the seal with oil, install the shift knob, and then reinstall the washer.
